As a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of experience in private practice, I specialize in helping clients navigate the complicated life transitions associated with the teen years and the 20s and 30s.
My varied clinical interests include anxiety, depression, perfectionism, stress management, educational issues, career concerns, college mental health, adults with autism, relationships, grief, trauma, substance use, physical disabilities, and medical and health issues.
My treatment approach includes cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and positive psychology treatment techniques. I am an engaged therapist and I incorporate therapeutic worksheets, exercises, and reading materials into my counseling sessions.
I am credentialed with Anthem Blue Cross of California, Aetna, and Cigna. I accept counseling referrals for students with UC SHIP.
Education, Training, and Credentials
- I am licensed in California (PSY30406) and Hawaii (#1167) .
- In addition to private practice, I have worked in a variety of treatment settings, including public and private schools, community clinics, substance use treatment programs, a forensic facility, and a mental health crisis center. I have also taught at the University of Hawaii, Maui College.
- I received my bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara and my master's and doctoral degrees from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, San Diego.
- I am a member of the San Diego Psychological Association's Cultural Diversity Committee and Women's Wellness Committee. I am committed to maintaining a counseling practice that accepts people from all backgrounds and abilities.
